DAY 4
Finishing touches
All our groups felt pressure on the final day, there
was lots to do including selecting music, adding voice-overs and
extra sound effects whilst trying to get films down to the 3 minute
requirement (not always successfully).
At this point many of the groups allocated different
tasks to their members, Examples included searching for suitable
stills to add, choosing the best music to use.
As the day flew past a sense of urgency descended
as the groups realised the deadline for the group screening was
soon approaching.
The screening
At last all the movies had been edited and saved and
archived back on to Mini DV tape. The films were then played back
through the video projector on to the Interactive Whiteboard, (also
ideal for showing to use video editing software to the groups).
All settled they were spellbound by seeing their work
projected and with hi-fi quality sound. (But this would be nothing
compared to the Oscar evening when they would see their films in
a real 'cinema' environment with ear blasting sound in the company
of their families, relations and guardians. They evaluated the
All too soon the workshops ended! Parents, family
and guardians waxed lyrical on how excited and thrilled the children
had been all week. This was reflected in lots of chocs and cards
for the leaders!
